Morrow Field is an independent journal about place, weather, and the process of making. We work with writing, location sound, and fixed cameras. We do not chase immediate events or draw conclusions on behalf of a place.

Editorial principles

Begin on site

Every story begins with being there. Second-hand images and satellite maps are preparation only; they do not replace the body's judgement of distance, temperature, and sound.

Allow slowness

A field record may span seasons. We do not treat publishing speed as value, nor remove pauses and uncertainty to make a story feel complete.

Preserve the source material

The sound and moving images made for each issue remain in an open archive, with original-size files and checksums. Short excerpts never replace full context.
